So I am back in NZ!

Walking through the airport, I could tell this is definitely New Zealand. So old school and chilled. My flight from Sydney to Auckland was an hour late. Some Americans at the gate were asking to talk to superiors and I noticed all the kiwi’s chilled as. One mother next to me said to her kids, “ahh all good.. more time in Sydney aye”

Then on the Air New Zealand flight, the hospitality was so damn chilled. A tourist from America was sleeping and the flight attendant kept shaking her to wake up to have a feed. The woman told her she was not hungry and the flight attendant said it’s free and tried to pursue her to eat. The toursit won. Then the flight attendant came back with 3 other flight attendants to insist that she eats HAHA.. the woman lost and picked at her food throughout the flight.

Landing was scary as, thought the plane was gonna tip..and babies screaming didn’t help. But it was all good. Got my bags, was easy as to go through customs. (Never felt so proud to hold a New Zealand passport…no lines!!). Then I walked though the gates. I couldn’t see my family! Too many faces staring at me… felt like I was back in Korea… except they were all white faces haha. Then I noticed them, they were looking at everyone with anticipation. HOW COULD THEY NOT RECOGNISE ME! went up behind them and shouted at them! haha

Stayed in Auckland for the night. Didn’t have any sleep at all on the flights. But was all good. Slept like 8pm..cauz could barely hold a conversation without falling asleep. Woke up and : BACON, SAUSAGES, TOAST, EGGS, TOMATOES, SPAGHETTI for breaky! mean as! haha

Met up with my family! they still the same. Cheeky as ever!

Went to Sylvia Park, a mall in Auckland.. and damnn..it’s good to be home. When I was eating with my family I noticed I kept on stealing their food. Something I constantly do in Korea. They all good with it though.. except my brother haha

Staying in Hamilton now. It’s so chilled here! If you wanna relax and get away from everything. fully recommend this place. All I do here is eat. Like 6 meals a day. haha

Should start to be more active. Been going to bed at 3am..and waking up at 2pm! While my family goes to bed at 8.30pm and wake up at 5am LOL

So this is my rant… pretty positive.. except for the woman who smashed a V bottle at the dairy on my feet by accident..luckily there were only a few cuts haha

Starting to organise my shit to come back to Korea too….. been put on a waiting list now! Hope I get in.. otherwise they said I can fully get the job in 6 months! that means 6 months of eating

So good to be home :)

Every morning I listen to a New Zealand hip hop radio station called Flava (soothes my homesickness).. anyways..I turned it on and heard this song….

HALLYU HAS CRASHED IN NEW ZEALAND!

Seriously, Girls Generation and Snoop Dogg.. never saw that one coming.. and to be playing on a popular radio station in Auckland…. ohh Korea!

wake up wake up wake up

So I was just on trademe looking for a job in NZ…

!@#$%^&**&&^$#@!@#$%^&*((*&^%$#

/Y / F / S / UCK!!

I don’t wanna be a waiter again

I don’t wanna work in a clothing store again

I don’t wanna work in a supermarket again

I don’t wanna work in NZ again

So 2012……. Help me find a job overseas. Whether it be South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwain, Thailand~~somewhere in Asia!!  gonna take the first bite I get. And so far it looks like South Korea is the winner..again :)

Amen

This song has nothing to do with Korea. But, tonight I went to Noraebang (singing room/karaoke) with some good friends. We happened to sing this and we belted it out. Noraebang: Good start to the New Year. My Seoul is fulfilled. Good night and “F**k you” XD

Happy New Years, Cheong ju South Korea.

It’s good when food tastes good. It’s kind of like proof you’re alive.

Today I walked into school with a 5th grader jumping around in joy. He was yelling in Korean that the President of North Korea had died. When he saw me, he rejoiced”Kim Jong Il die teacha” I told him to cut that nonsense out.

…What a crazy thing to say I thought while walking up stairs to my classroom..I hope he doesn’t get caught spreading his propaganda…talking about North Korea is a very sensitive issue..and to be making up silly stories is a big no no…

Upstairs I greet my students. Why are they jumping around saying Kim Jong Il is dead? I go onto Naver (equivalent to google) and yup.. confirmed.. he’s dead O.o

So then i do some research.. initially thinking this is a big fat hoax..  then I come across this video..which must have been played on the day Kim Jong Il died. The news reporter seems hysterical and saddened. So my guess is that she is reporting the death of her leader. But wow.. to cry on the National news.. really sends a message out to those watching..she really seems to have a strong connection to her ‘leader’. We can see the pain she is suffering with. Can’t imagine the pain North Koreans are facing now. All of a sudden i wonder if there are religions in North Korea? Do they have the freedom to believe their is something other than the state power? Or are they taken that privilege too and are indoctrinated to the fullest.

One thing I’m a little puzzled with is the day he died. 17.12.2011. That’s two days ago. He died two days ago. Yet the world only finds out today. hmmmm… 2days…what on earth happened in those two days? and why wasn’t the world updated immediately. Just shows how much the world knows about North Korea and the interaction with North Korea is seemingly little.

I am interested  to see what will happen. Will Korea reunite? Will the new leader (Kim Jong Il’s son) be a good leader and open the country to the world? Or continue hiding behind communism? I hope he is not crazy and won’t get any radical ideas like making this wicked plan to attack South Korea and the rest of the world. As history has shown, new leaders have this big plan set in their heads. They want their power to be acknowledged and for that to be known..something big has to happen right? Let’s just hope the right thing happens.

Don’t think I’ll take a trip to the DMZ anytime soon now(the state boundary dividing North and South Korea).
